Mount Carmel Endowment Fund

The Endowment Fund is a means by which special gifts of members, friends of the congregation, organizations and corporations can be received and disbursed for the purpose of extending the programs and ministries of Mount Carmel. The fund is a separate fund from the weekly contributions of members, which support the regular budgetary requirements of the church. It is not intended to interfere with or supplement the regular stewardship or other programs of the church.

The fund uses the interest or profits from the principal amount only to support and encourage church activities such as subsidizing the cost of tuition for seminarians, support of Lutherdale and children who visit Lutherdale, support of the Sunday school, support of numerous educational projects and costs in the church, and other activities of Mount Carmel where funding is not currently provided in the church’s budget.

The fund is required to distribute at least 85 percent of annual earnings from interest/dividends. In recent years, the emphasis has been on youth and education.
