OUR REFORMATION CONNECTION                      Our connection to Reformation Lutheran Church remains faithful, strong and growing.  There are many ways for people of all ages to participate in and support the wonderful ministries at Reformation:

REFORMATION FOOD PANTRY

The following non-perishable items are always needed: canned meals such as ravioli, spaghetti, beans and franks, beef stew; ramen noodles, Hamburger Helper type meals, tuna, canned green beans/corn/peas.  Please place these items in the bins in the "Giving Place Cabinet" anytime during the month.  The children can bring their donations forward to the altar during the offering time one Sunday a month - a great way for them to feel a direct connection with the food they are sharing with those who don't have enough to eat. We encourage families with young children to make sure they have a canned food item for the offering that day.

NEIGHBORHOOD STORE
If you have a few hours free on Monday mornings, we would love to have you come along with us to Reformation Lutheran Church's Neighborhood Store.  We meet at Mount Carmel at 9:45 a.m. and carpool to Reformation.

The time from 10:00 a.m. to noon goes by quickly as we sort and mark clothing, stock shelves with dishes, etc., working alongside, chatting with and getting to know some wonderful ladies from Reformation.  Please give it a try - call one of us and let us know you are coming:  Carol Nemes (414)-475-5026 or Eileen La Dew (414)-774-3893.

Your gently used clothing - and any items that can be used in a home/apartment - are greatly needed at the Neighborhood Store (Reformations's resale shop located at and run by members of their church).  The proceeds raised pay the salaries of the workers at the store - and the donated items that are purchased at affordable prices by Reformation's members and area neighbors greatly enhance their homes and lives.

Please pick up a copy of the list of items that are needed at the Neighborhood Store (Xerox copies are available in the "Giving Place" to your right as you come in the 84th Street door of the church).  Also, there are bins and shelves to leave your donations if they are small enough to bring with you to church.  For larger items, the list has instructions and the phone number to call to have these items picked up.

Mount Carmel and Crossways Camping Ministries have partnered to create an urban retreat center where youth groups or adults can gather and stay while experiencing the diversity of Milwaukee and reaching out to those in need.  Grace Place is a home owned by Mount Carmel located next to the church on 84th and Lorraine with kitchen facilities, living, sleeping and meeting space for youth or adult groups of up to 18-20 people. Grace Place is primarily used as a home base for groups participating in service work in the Milwaukee area, but we would welcome groups planning their own retreats or meetings for church councils, men's/women's groups, staff retreats, etc.

Crossways will work with your group to set up customized servant opportunities with Grace Place as your home base.  Crossways will take care of the logistics of setting up the servant opportunities and help with the details involved in making your group's mission trip happen. Servant opportunities, connecting with inner-city partner congregations, in-house Bible studies or long-range planning, sight-seeing, etc. are all potential program uses of Grace Place.  Please visit Crossways website Grace Place page for further information on booking this facility.
