Senior League (Grades 9-12)
Senior League seeks to keep high school aged youth connected to church.
There are opportunities for leadership development, as activities are coordinated
by an elected youth board and adult advisors. More fundraising activities
are required at this level to finance a week-long trip during July. The
theme of the trip changes on a three year rotation between the National
ELCA Youth Gathering, a service/mission trip, and a Christian adventure
trip. Youth also may take advantage of a weekend retreat for an in-depth
Bible study experience. Senior League makes greater use of Grace Place,
a home owned by the church. Activities are held there twice each month.
Stewardship is emphasized—youth give 10% of funds raised to benevolences
they select each year. As Christians, youth share many other resources and
talents as well. Senior Leaguers serve a meal to the hungry, participate
in the CROP Walk, buy toys for children at Christmas, and load boxcars with
donations for Lutheran World Relief. Youth also have the opportunity to
use their gifts in several worship services throughout the year.
