Service Styles

The worship services at Mount Carmel vary in style in order to honor the different ways that people enter into the presence of God and the different seasons of the church year. Worship may be led by our majestic pipe organ or by the energy of an ensemble of musicians on piano, flute, strings, drums, and horn. Evening worship services during Lent and the summer months are candlelit and contemplative. During the school year, the talents of our youngest members are shared once a month as they play music, read lessons, usher and greet people. In every worship service, we seek to honor the beauty and fullness of God’s presence among us so that we can return to our lives renewed and empowered to live as witnesses to a love greater than ourselves.

Communion

Holy Communion is served each week so that every time we worship, we are given the opportunity to be joined together at the table, and fed and nourished by Christ for our life in the world. Any communing member of the Christian church is invited to join us for this sacred meal. It is the Lord’s table, and all are welcomed to the feast!

Nursery

Childcare for children ages 1-4 is available during both worship services (8:30 & 10:45 a.m.) as well as the education hour from 9:40-10:35 a.m. throughout the school year. During the summer months, nursery care is available for the Sunday morning service at 9.

Your kids are sure to enjoy the bright and cheerful church nursery, located off the Fellowship Hall (lower level)! Our qualified nursery staff provides consistent and loving care for our children.
